my bio.

A true storyteller at heart, Erin can be heard in a solo cello recital, chamber music concert,  performing for children, or recording in her vocal booth. “I am always looking for the next great story to tell.” This is shown in her diverse career not only as a cellist, but as a voice actor, storyteller, teacher, artist, arts leader and overall creative. Producing engaging, and sometimes surprising, programs is what Erin is known for, and her collaborations with other musicians, dancers, artists, poets, and writers continues to inspire and challenge her to explore her art.

Erin continues to be an active soloist and chamber musician. Her solo performance and recording for the play, Ernestine Shuswap Gets Her Trout, by the acclaimed playwright Tomson Highway won a Kennedy Center music award.  Most recently, her solo cello recording for the film, “Out of Exile,” was praised by film director, Kyle Kawika Harris. The film went on to win Oklahoma’s best film 2022 at the Deadcenter Film Festival.  Erin continues to record regularly for films being produced here in Oklahoma. Erin also performs with several classical chamber music series such as Brighmusic, From The Edge Chamber Music, Cool Classics, and First Tuesday Series.

With a deep love for children, music outreach, and arts advocacy,  Erin fuses her cello playing with storytelling to create “Tunes and Tales”. The Malden Advocate reviewed her children’s performances as “...truly enchanting and not to be missed." The Bedford Journal reported, “Children and their parents were enraptured by the music.”  The Moore American wrote, “Children and adults fell in love with her."  Most recently, Oklahoma Contemporary noted, “Erin’s performance captivated not just the children, but the adults as well.” Erin tours extensively with these performances and is a sought after visiting artist across Oklahoma.

As a teacher, Erin held a private studio for over 25 years here in Oklahoma as well as in Boston, MA. She has also held teaching positions in The Groton School, Lawrence Academy, Indian Hill Music Center, University of Oklahoma, Southern Nazarene, and Oklahoma Baptist University. For the last four years, Erin taught in Le Monde International Language Immersion Charter School. She helped create, design, and lead the gifted and talented program as well as the whole school arts integrated focus.  As an  A+ teaching fellow with the Oklahoma A+ Schools Institute, Erin is passionate about arts advocacy and integrating the arts into all curriculum.

Most recently, Erin is thrilled to become a member of the Audio Publishers Association and has begun to narrate audiobooks. She continues to study voice acting with Voices Carey in Dallas, Real Voice LA in Los Angeles, CA.
